NC CareLINK provides up-to-date information about programs and services across North Carolina for families, seniors, youths and everyone in-between. It is a collaborative effort of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and many other government and non-profit information and referral stakeholders across North Carolina. You can access their web site at: https://www.nccarelink.gov You can also call the NC CareLine at 1-800-662-7030.
United Way has also developed a new information and referral system. Citizens can call 2-1-1 to receive information on health and human services in our area. The call is free! You can also access their web site at: http://www.nc211.org
Each county in Region E has a Senior Center. Senior Centers, along with the AAA and Information and Assistance lines, are excellent sources of information for older adults and their families. Senior Centers also provide opportunities for social and health-related activities, exercise, recreation, and education.
